👋 Hello!
This is issue #38 of Taskflow Tuesday, where I share 3 things that can help you to get digitally organized so that you can spend more time on what truly matters.
📱 1. You’re A Cyborg
I've been following the Light Phone for a while now, waiting for a model that I felt was truly worth buying.
Finally, with the release of the Light Phone III, I decided to take the plunge and preordered one a couple weeks ago. I'm looking forward to sharing my experience once I get it.
The Light Phone stands out to me because of its unique values and philosophy:
Minimalism: The Light Phone is designed to be used as little as possible. It encourages disconnection from the constant stream of notifications and distractions typical of modern smartphones.
Longevity: They don't believe in creating devices that will become obsolete quickly. The Light Phone is built to last, both in terms of hardware and software.
Privacy: The Light Phone respects user privacy, avoiding the data collection practices common in the tech industry.
On the other hand, I have concerns about Apple's new integration with AI and how that will impact my relationship with my phone.
Elon Musk has famously said, "We are already cyborgs; the only difference is the speed of data input and output" — I want the speed of data to slow down, not speed up.
“Most people don’t realize they’re already a cyborg. That phone is an extension of yourself. It’s just that the data rate, the communication rate between you and the cybernet extension of yourself that is your phone and your computer is slow. It’s very slow. We solve the data rate problem then I think we can hang on to human-machine symbiosis through the longterm. Then people may decide if they want to retain their biological self or not. I think they’ll probably decide they want to retain their biological self.”
In the meantime, I've transformed my iPhone to mimic the Light Phone experience using an app called Blank Spaces.

I'm excited about the potential of the Light Phone III to help me stay focused and present in my daily life, and I can't wait to see how it fits into my routine.
🛋️ 2. The Best Way To Make A Habit
Intentionally setting up your environment can significantly impact your ability to improve your habits.
When you create a space that supports your goals, you make it easier to make the right choices and maintain positive behaviors.
Here are some examples:
🍎 Healthy Eating at Home
Keep healthy snacks like fruits and nuts at eye level in the pantry.
When you're hungry, the first thing you see is a healthy option, making it easier to choose over junk food.
🏋️♀️ Exercise Routine
Place your workout clothes and shoes next to your bed the night before.
This visual cue makes it more likely you'll follow through with your workout in the morning.
🖥️ Office Productivity
Declutter your desk and only keep essentials like your computer, a notepad, and a pen.
A clean, organized workspace minimizes distractions and increases focus.
📖 Reading Habit
Place a book on your nightstand.
Seeing the book before bed encourages you to read a few pages instead of scrolling on your phone.
💧Hydration
Keep a water bottle on your desk or in your bag.
Having water within reach makes it easy to take regular sips throughout the day, ensuring you stay hydrated.
By strategically arranging your environment, you can make it easier to develop positive habits and avoid falling into old, unproductive patterns.
What’s one small environment change you can make today?
🌱 3. Slow Productivity
“SLOW PRODUCTIVITY.
A philosophy for organizing knowledge work efforts in a sustainable and meaningful manner, based on the following three principles:
Do fewer things.
Work at a natural pace.
Obsess over quality.”
