👋 Hello!
This is issue #17 of Taskflow Tuesday, where I share 3 things that can help you to get digitally organized and productive so that you can spend more time on what truly matters.
✍️ Currently
I have decided to ditch the 3 T’s → 1 Tip, 1 Tool, 1 Tweet.
While alliteration is fun and all, I believe my newsletter can provide even more value to you, and it will be more enjoyable for me to write each week if I widen the constraints I have given myself and change the format to sharing three things each week.
These “things” very well may be a tip, tool, or tweet. They may also be an idea, resource, book, podcast, etc…
With that out of the way, let’s jump into this weeks email.
🗓️ 1. Organizing Day
I recently picked up a book called 500 Terrific Ideas for Organizing Everything. 📕
It is terrifically outdated but if I find any gems in it I’ll be sure to let you know…
Starting right now. ⬇️
This is the day
“At home and at work, name one day a month “Organizing Day”.Put it in your calendar and consider it an important appointment. Metaphorically and physically, clear some space for yourself. Note where you waste time, and make an effort to be more efficient. Take the time to put organizers in your drawers, throw out old files, donate books to the library, or add shelves to a closet.”I love this entry.
Build into the rhythm of you life, one day every month where you do an audit on the organization of your closet, bookshelf, computer, filing system, and more. Take that day to get back to inbox zero in your email, reevaluate your commitments and your calendar, and take that day to run one of my favorite apps for Mac.
💬 2. Productivity Quotes For Life
I get so much value from following Rich. Here are 16 Productivity quotes that he just posted on Instagram.
👍🏼 My 3 favorite are:
“The best productivity app on your phone is called Airplane Mode.”
“Sunlight, exercise, and sleep are the batteries that power your productivity.”
“What your do is 1000x more important than how long you work.”
⏲️ 3. The Power Of Work Blocks
Our brains operate in 90-minute cycles.
To optimize our flow state of deep work:
Write down a list of 1-3 tasks you want to accomplish
Set a timer for 90 minutes
Put your phone in another room
By implementing this, you’ll get more done in less time.
