👋 Hello!
This is issue #41 of Taskflow Tuesday, where I share 3 things that can help you to get digitally organized so that you can spend more time on what truly matters.
✍🏼 Currently
I’m currently working on a Taskflow course!
A 4 Week Program that will guide you from chaos to peace in work and in life.
🧱 Week 1 sets the tone and the foundation.
🖥️ Week 2 is all about decluttering your digital life.
🎛️ Week 3 will set you up with your own productivity system.
🚀 Week 4 optimizes your routines and gives you a plan for ongoing success.
There’s way more to it than this but that’s the main outline. Not gonna lie, it’s getting really good.

📵 1. Dopamine Detox
Last issue we talked about conducting a Digital Detox.
Today we’re diving into Cal Newport’s plan for fighting dopamine addiction:
“Don’t use things that cause overstimulation.”
⬆️ Follow this and you’re good to go.
Here’s the full video but I break down the main points and best tips below.
📱 Social Media:
Don’t use it unless you need to for professional reasons
Don’t have it on your phone, only your computer
Use it on a schedule or delegate it to someone else
If you need quick access to DMs use the Meta Manager App
It should never be something you go to when you’re bored
You won’t be out of the loop by getting off of social media.
Podcasts and newsletters are great and usually better sources of information. More importantly they aren't apart of the dopamine machine in the way Instagram or Twitter are.
📺 YouTube:
Youtube is a great tool to learn and find instructions for things. The trap lies in all of the related videos and shorts that are perfectly curated to steal your attention.
Enter the browser extension: Unhook
With Unhook, you can hide YouTube related videos, shorts, comments, suggestion walls, homepage recommendations, and other distractions.
For entertainment videos on YouTube, save those for watching on your TV. There’s more friction and ritual when it comes to TV resulting in a less stimulating experience and makes it much less addicting.
📲 2. An App That Cleans Your Phone
It sorts through your photos and files and recognizes duplicates and large files taking up space on your phone.
I scan my phone with it once a week to keep things clean and organized.
🎛️ 3. Audit Your Productivity System
I came across this wonderful graph while doing some research for my Taskflow course. 👀
When reviewing your own productivity system keep these questions in mind:
Am I finishing my projects?
Am I enjoying the process?
Notice what works for you: Everyone has a system, even if it's chaotic. Pay attention to your work patterns and adapt them rather than chasing the "best" methods.
Focus on outcomes: Define for yourself what success looks like and prioritize finishing meaningful tasks.
Enjoy the process: Find methods that make your work sustainable and satisfying.
